Norman Lurens

Norman is an experienced motorcyclist with over 40 years of riding bikes both professionally and for fun. Having run his own training school for nearly 20 years he is able offer bikers the opportunity to take their riding skills to a higher level.

Norman is a DVSA (Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency) qualified instructor as well as completing a qualification with RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) which he passed at a GOLD level. Norman also has a RoSPA diploma which allows him to teach advanced training and is our Chief Instructor for the Company.

From beginners to experienced riders wanting to improve, whatever level of help, advice or coaching you are looking for, Norman can provide the most thorough and professional training.

Kevin Long

Kevin joined Dorset Advanced in 2022 as our maintenance technician having got back into biking in 2021 following a 30 year break from it.

Now Kevin is one of our CBT instructors and has been doing this since June 2024.

From previously working in a school and coaching children's football Kevin has the knowledge and understanding of training as well as as a passion for motorcycles, having owned 9 different bikes just since 2021.

Gary Nicholls

Gary is the co-owner of the business and has taken the leap to become a Motorcycle Instructor in 2025.

With his Mum and Norman owning the business for 20 years before he took over, he has been around the motorcycle training school since the beginning.

Gary has ridden since he was 16 on a CBT and then got his full motorcycle licence when he was 21 - 19 years ago. He has had a wide variety of bikes and has recently enjoyed touring around Europe.
